Well done to our Under 13 ‘A’ hurlers who have qualified for the North Final, by virtue of a 1-13 to 1-3 semi-final victory over Toomevara in Ballina on Tuesday evening. A workmanlike display saw them through a well-contested game. They will play Roscrea in the final.

Our Under 17 hurling team gave an impressive performance in defeating Toomevara in Lacken park on Monday evening. They now await a fixture in the knock-out stages of the championship.

The Under 15 A team played a very exciting draw v Toomevara in the North Championship last Thursday evening finishing Newport 2-11 to Toomevara 0-17 in Lacken Park. The Under 15 C team travelled to Toomevara and came away with a win.

A very disappointing start to the County Intermediate campaign saw Newport losing out to Carrick Davins by 3-20 to 1-23 in the first round of the county championship on Sunday evening. Their next game v Arravale Rovers will be on the weekend of August 30th / 31st.
