Our Under 16 hurlers qualified for the North semi-final, following a facile victory over Ballinahinch-Templederry on Monday evening. James Ryan (Cooper) led the scoring stakes with 4 goals, Darragh Healy registered 1-6, while JJ Roche chipped in with 0-5. Tom McCabe stood out in defence.

We would like to wish our Junior B & C Hurlers the best of luck in their championship matches this weekend. The Junior B’s play Moneygall in the North Q/F on Friday evening in Lacken Park @ 6:45 PM, while the Junior C Team travel to Nenagh on Sunday to play Nenagh in  Round 3…

Hard luck to our Intermediate hurlers who lost out to Borrisokane in Round 2 of the Co-Championship by 2-20 to 1-17 on Sunday. They play their final Group match in two weeks v Moyle Rovers which is a must win game in order to progress to the knockout stages of the championship.

Congratulations to our Intermediate hurlers on their win over Ballybacon Grange in the County Intermediate Hurling Championship in Annacarty on Saturday last. Final score Newport 0-26  Ballybacon-Grange 0-14. Our Junior ‘C’ team had to bow to Ballina’s superior ability and experience on Friday, losing by 3-19 to 1-11
