County Champions

Congratulations to our Under 15 ‘C’ hurling team which won their county final yesterday, defeating Kilruane MacDonaghs in Cashel, thus retaining the Katie Manton Cup. Final score: Newport 2-13 Kilruane 2-3. The team showed great character when the pressure came on in the second half and Kilruane had the deficit down to wo points. James Long received the Man of the Match award, presented by Brendan Cummins, after a great display of energy and skill. Jack Fitzgerald showed brilliant accuracy in scoring 0-11. The Cup was presented to team captain, Sean Berkery, by PJ Bowden and Ray Manton.
