CLG Tulach Sheasta extends sympathy to the O’Neill Family, Church Road, Newport, on the passing of Francis (Frank) O’Neill, Leixlip, Co Kildare and formerly of Newport. Frank played underage hurling and football with Newport in the 1960s before emigrating to England. He was in Coventry to welcome the Newport team to the St Finbarrs Club in 1968. On his return to Ireland, he was a prominent member of the fledgling Newport Rugby Club. Having joined An Gárda Síochána, he settled in Kildare where he became highly respected and well known through his interest and involvement in GAA, Rugby, Golf and Horse-Racing activities.
