Under 13 Champions

Our Under 13 hurlers brought the first ever Under 13 ‘A’ hurling title to Newport on Tuesday evening in Templederry when they defeated Roscrea in the North Final. Final score: Newport 4-12 Roscrea 2-5. This was a brilliant team display with each player showing tremendous skill and tenacity. A remarkable feature was the number of rucks in the game, with Newport players emerging with the ball on most occasions. While Roscrea got the opening score of the game, when Hughie Duggan netted in the 10th minute, Newport were in control and went on to win comfortably. Well done to mentors and players.
