Our Junior Hurlers had to give best to a strong Ballina outfit in the North Final played in Dolla on Sunday last. Goals win matches and so it proved as Ballina hit the net on four occasions, while Newport failed to raise a green flag. Final score: Ballina 4-14 Newport 0-15. Newport now qualify for the County Quarter Final which will be played against Rosegreen in Cappawhite on Sat 26th.
