Newport were crowned North Tipp minor football champions by virtue of their win over Ballina on Wednesday evening’s final. In a well-contested game, Newport had more possession but failed to convert some gilt-edged goal chances, hitting the woodwork on numerous occasions. Final score: Newport 2-11 Ballina 2-5. Newport last won this title in 2002 (Under 18 Minor). They did however win a Minor title in 2021 when it was Under 17.
