Our junior hurlers played Borrisokane in Lacken Park on Saturday 2nd May in the North Junior league. Final score on the day Newport 0:18 to Borrisokane 01:11.
Faoi 17: Our U17 footballers took on Clonmel Commercials on Monday 4th May in Lacken Park in the County Football league. They suffered a narrow defeat on a 1-15 to 3-7 scoreline. They also played Moyne Templetuohy on Saturday last in Lacken Park. Final score on the night Newport 01:12, Moyne 05:11.
GAA U15 Féile na nGael Hurling – Well done to our U15 teams who competed in Feile na Óg Hurling on Monday last.
In Division 2 played in Holycross, they defeated Cappawhite but lost to Holycross-Ballycahill.
Division 8 matches were played in Kilsheelan. Newport defeated Cahir and Kilsheelan-Kilcash to qualify for the final against Ballyporeen whom they defeated by 1-10 to 1-7. Well done to players and management.
Faoi 14: Our U14A footballers take on Toomevara in Templederry on Thursday 7th May at 18.45 in the North Football semi-final. Best of luck boys. The ‘B’ team lost their quarter final game to Naomh Eoin last week with the final score 4-9 to 2-4.
