Our Under 13 ‘B’ team played their second round robin hurling game on Tuesday evening against Portroe in Newport. After an indifferent first half, they were trailing 2-2 to 0-1 at the interval. However, they made the second half a real contest and goals from Eoin Butler (2) and Bobby Ryan brought them to within a point of their opponents with 5 minutes remaining. But, in an exciting finish, they were unable to get through for the equalising score. Final score: Portroe 3-3 Newport 3-2.
