All three under 13 football teams were in action last week. The A team played Nenagh Eire Óg on Tuesday evening in the North Championship and recorded a 3-7 to 1-5 win, following the previous week’s big win over Ballina. The under 13 B team put in a great effort v Templederry / Ballinahinch but came up short in the end, but they recovered to get a narrow win over Silvermines. The D team defeated Burgess to qualify for the North Final which was played on Bank Holiday Monday evening against Roscrea in Toomevara. It was a well-contested final with little between the sides until Newport sealed victory with some late scores. Final score: Newport 4-5 Roscrea 3-0.
